Apple, iPhone Takes the Cake in New Guiness World Record Book

Tej Kohli IT passion blog brings you the latest developments in technology industry. After winning the hearts of millions of people worldwide, Apple and iPhone also scored big in the Guiness World Records.  Tej Kohli blog brings you the complete report.

A lot of mobile related items have found place in the Guinness World Records' new Gamer's Edition Book 2011. While Apple's iPhone 4 was named the fastest-selling portable gaming system, its App Store was declared the most popular application marketplace besides having had the largest launch line-up of a gaming system ever.

However, some non-apple favorites bagged a title as well such as Rovio's Angry Birds, which was listed for being the top-paid-for app in 'most nations'. TapTap Revenge was named the most popular iPhone game series and Plants vs.Zombies was named the fastest selling iPhone/iPod strategy game.

Tej Kohli says there certainly are many non-Apple or iPhone related items in the book, but for that you will have to buy a hard copy to fund out. Guinness has also launched a related Gamer's Edition Arcade App for iOS and Android that costs $0.99.
