Game afficonados of the world rejoice! Nintendo has announced to reduce the price of its Wii gaming console to $149 and also include a Mario game in the bouquet.

Industry soothsayers were expecting this price slash for quite sometime now. Priced at $169 previously, the price cut came after Nintendo announced to launch a successor to the Wii in the coming year.

A lot of analysts believed Nintendo needed to do something to revive the console, which was the undisputed leader in gaming consoles for quite sometime, but has lost its demand for the past several months.

In a recent release, Nintendo said that beginning may 15 consumers can purchase a Wii (black or white)
for the new price of $149. The range will feature the Mario Kart Wii and a Wii wheel accessory in the same color as console.

The company also said that on May 15, it will launch its new "Nintendo Selects" series of Wii games. For $20, gamers can buy four hit Wii games: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess; Mario Super Sluggers; Animal Crossing: City Folk; and Wii Sports. This would be the first time Wii Sports will be available to buy. Previously, it was bundled with the console.
